Welcome to the Hellenic Evaluation Society (HES)!
The mission of HES focuses on building and supporting a dynamic community of evaluators capable of addressing the developmental, social, and economic challenges of our time. Our core principles include the dissemination of knowledge and the enhancement of the quality of evaluations, adopting reliable standards and principles to ensure the validity and utility of evaluation outcomes.
HES fosters international collaborations and promotes inclusivity through meetings, conferences, and publications, providing platforms for the exchange of knowledge and experiences.
HES undertakes a number of initiatives aimed at empowering the evaluation community and advancing the integration of evaluation in the design and implementation of public policies.
Through these efforts, HES contributes to awareness-raising, education, and the promotion of excellence in the field of evaluation, offering opportunities for networking and learning for evaluators.
Annual Conferences: HES’s annual conferences aim to provide a platform for evaluators, researchers, policymakers, and other stakeholders to exchange knowledge, perspectives, best practices, and innovative ideas, fostering a culture of evaluation in Greece. Speakers and invited guests include government officials, policymakers, and public servants from Greece and abroad, evaluators, researchers, academics, and representatives of international organizations and civil society.
HES Review: The "HES Review" journal is published twice a year, featuring articles and studies that enrich the literature and highlight contemporary trends in evaluation.
Awards: HES has established an annual competition to recognize good practices in evaluation. These awards celebrate the quality of evaluations in three key categories: new evaluators, excellent methodological application, and optimal use of evaluation findings.
Podcasts: HES promotes public engagement, knowledge sharing, and the dissemination of innovative ideas and good practices through podcasts featuring distinguished speakers. These discussions bridge theory and practice, creating a vibrant forum for exchanging knowledge and experiences in the field of evaluation.
